The Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are landing at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston for three unforgettable nights from Thursday, November 29th to Saturday, December 1st. 2018 has been a such an exciting, monumental year for the Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, as the band has traveled all around the country, playing their infectiously fun, psychedelic, high-energy, funk-rock music in the absolute biggest way to some of the most historic stages of all time. Just this year, the band has sold out their own festival, Domefest, been featured on the renowned Poll Star Magazine, played at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Bonnaroo, Summer Camp, High Sierra Music Festival, and have sold out countless other venues around the country. This band creates die-hard fans out of first-timers in every show they play, and fans all around the country have fallen in love with their great energy. With each show P4 pours their hearts out, and the band totally deserves all of the success and praise that comes their way.
Through an unforgettable live music experience, the Pigeons have become experts of enlivening the souls of listeners and turning them into life-long fans. They take concert venues and turn them into boiling cauldrons of jubilated spiritual energy. Bouncing between moments of inspiration, nostalgia, appreciation, celebration, psychedelic awe, true beauty, utter amazement, and everything in-between, the Pigeons paint breath-taking sonic vistas with their vivid lyrical imagery, out-of-this world funky & psychedelic instrumentation, and jaw-dropping light displays from their wildly awesome light engineer, Manny Newman.
Being at one of their shows is one of the most fun things a human can possibly do- it is truly a party like no other. This band shows a passion that is hard to find, and has seemed to have stirred up a similar passion in many of their fans- a passion that fans can take out with them into their lives and spread to the people they love. That is what Pigeons devoted fan group, the flock, is all about, and their fans are so grateful for the band always bringing such an unbelievable presence to the stage. Attending their shows has become an undeniably sacred tradition for “flockers” around the country, as each time they are united as one in an experience that has become extremely special and surreal.
Greg Ormont, rhythm guitarist and lead singer, always shows a full-hearted enthusiasm mixed with a hilarious light-heartedness, as he breaks the built up energy with some of the funniest, most perfectly timed faces anyone has ever made. Joined by guitarist Jeremy Schon, bassist Ben Carrey, and drummer Alex Petropolous, the band plays its music masterfully, yet also has an uncanny ability to connect with people in the crowd in such a way that other bands simply do not. Thriving off of a clear and genuine intention, a flaming enthusiasm, and totally owning the spotlight, the Pigeons get crowds dancing like crazy in no time. There is nothing like being surrounded by other Pigeons fans, all having the absolute time of their life, and knowing that have now you have all now instantly formed this deep bond that makes fellow flockers feel like family. The Pigeons are a passionate bunch with a purpose. They set out to set a new base-line of positive emotions in their fans, and for many flockers, the band almost acts as a sort of spiritual guide on stage, as they use their music to help cultivate a deep-seeded and unwavering appreciation for life.
Although Friday November 30th and Saturday December 1st are already sold out, for a limited time fans in the New England area still may be able to get Thursday tickets for the first night of the 3-night Boston run. Just around the corner is one of the band’s biggest ever show’s- their New Year’s “stEve”, Stevie Wonder-themed show at Stage AE in Pittsburgh. P4 has also recently announced they have relocated their festival, Domefest, to the much larger Marvin’s Mountaintop in West Virginia. They have also announced a winter tour schedule that has fans already firming up plans. Pre-sale tickets for New Year’s STeve and winter tour are available through the band’s website.
