Perfectly Weird: Turkaz has released their music video for song "Superstatic"!

Turkuaz has released the music video for their song “Superstatic” off of last year’s Life in the City album. It’s just as fun as you thought it would be; a smidgeon more colorful; and exactly the level of weird that makes you laugh but doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable (Die Antwoord we’re looking at you for that one.

The music video entertains like a classic ‘80s hit that the song evokes, boasting fluorescent colors and bright assertive patterns that I would define as “eyeball aerobics”. Watching it makes one feel just like one would at a Turkuaz live performance: there’s so many fun things to look at! Oddly beautiful people, a rainbow of colorful costumery, and so. Much. Funk. Known for pairing their funkadelic “superstatic automatic” music with highly artistic and creative video accompaniment, their latest release is a visual disco.

Incredibly sing along-able, strangely relatable, pretty nonsensical, positively charged lyrics are a staple of Turkuaz. The Band, and “Superstatic” hits us with the verbal equivalent. Creatively utilized green screens grab our attention with floating heads and geographic nonsense. Television screens, Times Square, head candy, a big beautiful bite of an eggplant, and a whole lotta mood glasses make an appearance in the 4:07 minutes.

Please watch the whole video below, I promise it’s a better return on investment than the minutes you spent accidentally stalking your ex-boyfriend’s cousin’s hairdresser on Instagram the other day. You’re in luck because Turkuaz is continuing their tour next week and all the sweet summertime long because they love you like that. Thank you, Turkuaz. We love you, too.
