PIGEONS PLAYING PING PONG ADDS 2-NIGHT HOMETOWN THROWDOWN TO FALL TOUR, INCLUDING A DEBUT HEADLINING PERFORMANCE AT THE ANTHEM

After a standout set at LOCKN’ Festival in Arlington, VA this past weekend–which welcomed Vulfpeck guitarist-extraordinaire Cory Wong and the horns from The Revivalists–Baltimore-based quartet, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, are excited to share their latest news, including one of their largest plays to date.
Over December 6th and 7th, they will host a two-night hometown throwdown at the 9:30 Club, which sees support from lespecial, followed by their debut headlining performance at The Anthem, joined by special guest Here Come The Mummies.
“To say we’re excited to make our debut at The Anthem would be a huge understatement,” shares Pigeons Playing Ping Pong frontman, Greg Ormont. “We’ve been working our way up the ladder in DC for years, starting in the smallest of venues and loving every step of the process. We’ll be thinking about all of those DC memories when we headline our biggest show to date at The Anthem this December.”
They say hard work pays off, and the fast ascent of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong is a perfect example of that fact. Over the last decade, the band has been grinding away, touring coast-to-coast on nearly 200 dates a year. That kind of road time is bound to cultivate an organic and grassroots fan-base. In their home market alone, they’ve sold out the 9:30 Club numerous times over, and so while they’re excited to return to the old stomping grounds this December, they’re eager to make their debut at The Anthem, their largest-announced venue to date.
Tickets are on sale this coming Thursday, August 29th* at 10 am ET via the band’s website. A special artist pre-sale will take place this Wednesday, August 28th from 10 am – 10 pm ET and can be accessed using the code “PIGEONS.”
*Please note, tickets to December 6th’s 9:30 Club show are only available via a 2-night pass and will not be sold separately. Limited quantities exist.
