In addition to yesterday’s big news, where Pigeons Playing Ping Pong announced their return to DC and a debut performance at The Anthem, today the band unveils their New Year’s Eve plans. If past years have been any indication, it’s an event not to be missed.
Starting December 30th, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong kick off a two-night run in Asheville, NC with an intimate “An Evening With” performance at The Orange Peel*, followed by their first-ever arena show on December 31st at the ExploreAsheville.com Arena with support offered by Tauk.
“It’s become a band tradition to go big for our New Year’s Eve runs, and this year’s themed celebration promises to be our craziest one yet with The Electric Kool-Aid Asheville Test,” Greg Ormont, the Pigeons Playing Ping Pong frontman, enthusiastically shares. “We’re busting out all the stops for our first-ever arena show. All I can say is, expect the unexpected. Can you pass the Asheville test?”
With the formal theme dubbed “The Electric Kool-Aid Asheville Test,” fans can expect a psychedelic celebration filled with high-energy music, a dazzling light show and so much more. Past themes include last year’s New Year’s stEve, 2017’s DisNYE, and their very first NYE theme debuted in 2011, Speakeasy NYE. As devoted Flockers know, the New Year’s Eve theme always inspires creative setlists with new songs and debut covers along with an epic musical New Year’s countdown.
Tickets for this date and the recently-announced DC dates are on sale this coming Thursday, August 29th at 10 am ET via the band’s website. A special artist pre-sale will take place tomorrow, August 28th from 10 am – 10 pm ET and can be accessed using the code“PIGEONS.”
