Maine indie rapper Spose and his record label P Dank held their sold out 5th annual Christmas party on 12/15 at Aura in Portland Maine.

Past Xmas shows have featured Watsky, Token, Mac Lethal, Masta Killa and  Dr. Astronaut. Of course, this year was stacked as well.

Maine rockers, Armies, kicked off the night. Featuring Dave Gutter and Jon Roods from Rustic Overtones, Armies got the venue rocking with songs off their latest album, “Armies II”.

Next up Spose made his initial appearance, playing his band set with the Humans. The Humans band was formed as a result of Spose’s 2017 “Humans” album which was recorded in just 24 hours.

The album was top-notch with the help of an all-star cast of Maine musicians, DJs, rappers, producers and features like KG Freeze, Kristina Kentigian as well as members of Armies.

The band played songs off the new Spose album “We All Got Lost” as well as old favorites.

By the time Grieves took the stage, the 1000 cap venue was jam-packed and tuned up. The Rhymesayers artist had great banter with the audience, talked about his long friendship with Spose and how playing this show and checked off the last and 50th state that he’s played in his career.

After a hot set, Spose joined him as they sat on the edge of the stage taking selfies with fan’s phones during Spose’s new song Take You Home on which he appears.

Spose then launched his DJ set highlighted by Connecticut’s P.Mo joining him for the new single Suicide Doors, P Dank’s Shane Reis on Lies and Cam Groves coming out to do his fan-favorite Pinata.

Chris Webby strolled out with a classy bottle of Jameson in hand to join Spose then went into his own set. The New England local had lots of fans there and the place was going nuts as he did a mix of new and old songs.

Caping off the night, The Humans band came out for another set and were joined by P Dank artists Cam Groves, J Spin and Shang High as they went through some of Spose’s fan favorites- including his hit single “I’m Awesome”.

As the crowd made their way past the most ridiculously crowded march tables ever, P Dank Christmas 5 was a wrap. It’s been amazing to see this party grow over the past 5 years and can’t wait to see what Spose has in store for us next year.
